Ever Active Schools has collaborated with the Students Commission of Canada (SCC) through its Sharing the Stories (StS) program, which offers customizable evaluation for non-profits serving youth. Together, they are working to to tell the story of Ever Active’s “Resettlement Through Recreation– Leadership” and “Resettlement Through Recreation” programs.
The results show that participants are developing strong foundations in leadership related skills, particularly in their ability to make thoughtful decisions, stay motivated as learners, and build meaningful connections within the program. Youth demonstrated a clear willingness to support others by sharing their knowledge and encouraging leadership among peers. At the same time, some variability across learning and connectedness indicators suggests opportunities exist to further strengthen critical thinking, deepen peer relationships, and continue amplifying youth voice in shaping their program experience.
