R.I.S.E. (Reach. Inspire. Soar. Empower) Academy has collaborated with the Students Commission of Canada (SCC) through its Sharing the Stories (StS) program, which offers customizable evaluation for non-profits serving youth. Together, they produces this report to evaluate the impact of R.I.S.E. Academy’s Impact NOW! program, where students earn high school credits while building essential life skills, exploring career pathways, and developing leadership abilities.
The report concludes that the program has shown promising results. Participants have highlighted the uplifting atmosphere and community-building exercises that make them feel comfortable and connected. By involving community members in planning, the program ensured that it remained relevant and supportive. Recently implemented measures that enable more detailed understanding of student progress over time have already revealed increases in students’ confidence, communication skills, and willingness to participate in group activities.
